What is the Zaporizhzhya Sich, how many were there during the entire history of the existence of the Ukrainian Cossacks? When was the first Zaporozhian Sich born, and who was its founder. The author of the monograph answers these and other questions, in particular, he proves that during the entire history of the Ukrainian Cossacks on the Lower Dnipro, in the Veliky Luza, there were only two Zaporizhzhya Sichs: "Stara", Chortomlytska (1652–1709) and its continuation - " Nova", Pidpilnenska (1734–1775). The remnants of these Siches are flooded by the Kakhovsky Reservoir, according to the villages, their satellites, Kapulivka and Pokrovsky, Nikopol District, Dnipropetrovsk Region.
Since the Zaporizhzhya Sich arose from the state of B. Khmelnytskyi, the author briefly introduces the reader to the ethnic history of the Ukrainian Cossacks, which preceded this event.
