The dictionary is devoted to the toponymic system of the Orel district of the 16th-20th centuries. All descriptions are based solely on the results of archival research, data from dictionaries and lists of populated places of the 19th-21st centuries, local legends and, to a lesser extent, on information from Internet resources.
