The book is devoted to the history of the Jewish community of Hlybokaje, Vitebsk region, the tragedy and heroism of the Jews of Hlybokaje during the Great Patriotic War. The publication tells about the creation of Jewish ghettos by the Nazi invaders in Hlybokaye and other settlements of the region, about the extermination of local Jews by the Nazis and their aides. A separate part of the book is devoted to the resistance of the Jews in the Hlybokaje ghetto, during which on August 19, 1943, the participants of the resistance rose up in an armed uprising, killing about 100 Nazi executioners. Some of the heroes escaped and continued to fight the occupiers in guerrilla units. The book also contains materials about people who risked their lives to save Jews from the massacre, about perpetuating the memory of Holocaust victims in Hlybokaje district. The publication is illustrated with historical and modern photographs, photocopies of archival documents.
