The monograph examines the concept of deliberate, violent annihilation of the Cossacks as an original ethnic group (ethno-cultural community) during the formation of the state system of the RSFSR and the USSR in 1918-1933. The book is based on archive materials. For the first time in Russian historiography, an attempt to comprehensively assess the various technologies of state suppression and terror carried out against the Cossack population of the South and East of Russia by the punitive bodies of the Soviet state was made.
