The book is an original study examining the role of shadows, glare, reflections, echo effects and their derivatives in the structure of our external and internal world. The author includes in one ascending series of development such phenomena as a simple shadow cast on the ground, the same shadow cast into the lens, a shadow-copy presented in the sensuality of living natural beings and in the human sensorium. This also includes images, including artistic images - and replications of all kinds. An unusual angle of consideration allows us to introduce such definitions as being-under-supervision, iso-organisms and echo-organisms; traditional problems of European metaphysics are rethought in a new key. Sekatsky Alexander Kupriyanovich (born February 24, 1958, Minsk) is a Russian philosopher and publicist, writer, TV presenter, laureate of the St. Petersburg Philosophical Society's "Second Navigation" award in the nomination "For philosophical investment in the cultural life of St. Petersburg" for his active presence in the media: political articles, interviews, reviews, critical texts on works of fine art (2002), laureate of the Andrei Bely (2008) and N.V. Gogol (2009) literary prizes.
