The edition is devoted to Aleksey Yermolov (1772 - 1861), a prominent Russian general of the XXth century. His charismatic leadership of imperial armies was romanticized in poems by Alexander Pushkin, Vasily Zhukovsky, and others. However, contrasting with his evocation by Russians as a hero, he is remembered by those he conquered as the embodiment of imperialist evil, and his name is used to denote others later in history like him.
