The uniqueness of the monograph lies in the fact that it considers relations between two monarchic houses of Russia and Prussia from the late XVIIIth to the early XIXth centuries in terms of the life and military service of the officer Ivan Iablokov, a native of the Village of Palkino. He adrift became a Prussian soldier and one of the pioneer Russian emigrants in Prussia. Using a large volume of materials the author managed to reconstruct the traditions and everyday life of the Kostroma settlers of the epoch.
