By an unfortunate coincidence, starting from the fifteenth century, tens of thousands of Georgians found themselves in a foreign land. Some of them were kidnapped, some were captured during the war, and some were sold by the Georgian nobles themselves. From the Ottoman Empire to the coast of Yemen, from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco to southern India, rarely has anyone heard of Georgians. It often happened that Georgian slaves seized power. With rare exceptions, the fate of these Georgians is shrouded in darkness, and their names are forgotten in the past of history. The author, Alexander Mikaberidze, a professor at Louisiana State University, specifically searches for and explores traces of Georgians abroad. The book tells the adventures of a small part of them in independent stories.
