The monograph presents the results of a comprehensive study of the process of creating and developing a system for ensuring radiation safety at enterprises of the nuclear complex of the Urals, including its scientific, organizational and legal aspects. Based on declassified documentary materials and introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, the author analyzes the formation of a radiation safety system in the context of the development of nuclear technologies, which were initially experimental in nature, examines the problems of ensuring radiation protection that accompany the activities of the country's first nuclear enterprises, and examines the unique experience acquired in the process of solving them . The study is intended to expand the existing understanding of the content of the Soviet nuclear project and to recreate a more complete and objective picture of the formation of the nuclear industrial complex.
