"It is said that ancient Persian rulers sent their scouts to foreign lands in order to determine the public mood in those states and regions by the tonality of the sound of music and decide whether they could be easily conquered. Instead, more peaceful travelers have been, and are now, exploring the peculiarities of the tastes of national and regional kitchen, thus determining the desire or reluctance of a deeper acquaintance.
But our wonderful Bukovyna serves itself at the hospitable table, as if inviting - taste me and see how good I taste! Admiration of our region is absolutely justified: its landscape diversity, polyphony of music, songs and languages, architectural masterpieces with thousands of threads of human destinies, which firmly bind it to Europe and the world, are enough to arouse curiosity. But the guest cannot stop at the threshold of our house, nor is he allowed to the most holy - the sacrament of enjoying consumption, the joy of eating in good company, immersing himself in smells, tastes and decorations.
The people of Bukovynia are hospitable, no chronicler has yet recorded hungry guests in Bukovyna, and no landlord has let them go.
Bukovyna cuisine is the coronation and sublimation of landscapes, cultures, and poetry, where "mirror carp kept a spicy silence in five languages."
