The book is the first publication dedicated to Valery Vasilievich Ikonnikov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, recipient of the Lenin Prize, and a talented engineer and manager who headed the Central Design Bureau for Hydrofoils for two decades.
The book was published to mark the 100th anniversary of Ikonnikov’s birth, an individual whose name is firmly etched into the history of Soviet shipbuilding.
The narrative is based on the recollections of his colleagues, students, and loved ones.
Author: Gennady Mikhailovich Khomutov is a member of the CDB for SPK Veterans' Council, who knew Ikonnikov personally.
