The monograph proposes new interpretations of the testimony of sources, mainly chronicles, that have preserved information about the “Trans-Ural epic” of the 1580s, and substantiated in many respects other than before solutions to the issues of “Ermakov's capture” of Siberia that have long been discussed in historiography.
