The monograph is devoted to four orthographic-phonetic phenomena, specifically prosthetic v- (e.g. window), narrowing e > i (good milk), diphthongization y > ej (white mill) and adverbial diphthongization u > ou (oumysl), in printed literary monuments from the 16th–18th centuries. The focus of the monograph is the linguistic analysis of the period's literary sources in an effort to identify the contemporary customs, development tendencies and differences from today's linguistic situation.
