In May 2019, 30 years have passed since the death of Dominik Tatarka, an important figure in the Slovak cultural environment. On this occasion, the Institute of National Memory, in cooperation with the Department of Slovak Literature and Literary Science of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava and the University Library in Bratislava, organized an interdisciplinary scientific conference on May 14, 2019, the output of which is this collection. The purpose of the contributions was to point out the breadth of Tatarka's literary work and his action in the socio-political field against the background of various historical milestones, in the context of the continuous topicality of his personality as a unique phenomenon.
