The monograph outlines the theoretical and methodological principles of distance learning in the professional development of teachers of general secondary education institutions. The peculiarities of the organization of distance learning in institutions of general secondary education and the professional development of teachers are revealed, the experience of using distance learning in the professional development of teachers of educational institutions abroad and in Ukraine, in particular during the COVID-19 pandemic, is analyzed, the genesis of the legal framework for the introduction of distance learning in the education system of Ukraine, the relationship between the state of digitization of the educational institution and the level of readiness of the teacher to use distance learning technologies are determined.
