For more than 16 years, Lukas Lev has been guiding visitors through the former Terezín ghetto and uncovering forgotten stories. In his book, he describes the tragic fates of the local prisoners, including Hana Littenova or the “boys from the attic”. Based on found inscriptions, artifacts, archives and interviews with survivors and their descendants, he creates a mosaic of the past, the remains of which are unfortunately disappearing before our eyes today. The reader learns about, for example, a šlojka, a children's pavilion or a found suitcase with hardly believable correspondence.
