The dictionary contains toponyms in the Konda River system, collected from various historical sources and geographical maps of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. This is the only "living" legacy that has been preserved from the Kondinsky dialect. Due to the loss of dialects of the native language by modern Kondin Mansi, it is very difficult to restore the primary phonemic composition of toponyms and their translations without informants who speak the Kondin dialect.
