The monograph is devoted to the problems of the concept of constitutional freedom of mass information in the Russian Federation and the Federal Republic of Germany. The provisions formulated by the authors make it possible to determine the essential characteristics of freedom of mass information, specific features of its legislative definition in Russian and German law, peculiarities of restriction, guarantee and practical realization.
Approaches to the understanding of freedom of mass information as a subjective freedom and constitutional value are outlined. A distinction is made between freedom of mass information and freedom of the press, as well as freedom of information in Russian and German law. The ways of prohibiting censorship in the Russian Federation and the Federal Republic of Germany are analyzed.
