Ingmar Bergman (1918 - 2007) - the greatest director of the twentieth century, a brilliant Swedish producer and actor, writer and screenwriter, winner of 3 Oscars and more than 50 other awards and prizes. Former owner of the production company "Cinematography Aktiebolag". "Confidential Conversations" is the first Ukrainian translation of Ingmar Bergman's prose. It is a story that revolves around a classic conflict (adultery) and is conveyed with a deep "Bergman" psychologism and extreme tension. The novel has five parts - five conversations, reminiscent of staging theatrical scenes: first, the author gives a description of the environment in which the characters participate, and then shifts the emphasis to dialogue. In these conversations, feelings of guilt and anxiety, betrayal and jealousy, bordering on insanity, the desire to experience the fleeting love ecstasy and despair of the impossibility of delaying these moments. And yet - the eternal dilemma of truth and openness.
