In this volume, I try to show that the findings from the first volume of Collected Texts devoted to interpretation retain their power even when we start talking about politics. When we interpret, we make choices about how we see reality or how we want it to be interpreted. These choices are, in my understanding, ostentatiously political, because we believe that if others thought as we do, the world would be a much better place to live. So it is not a question of whether we are right or wrong, because the world does not revolve around reasons, but around convictions, beliefs, affects, suspicions, and a whole tangle of irrational impulses that are only sometimes reconciled and reflected upon.
