This year marks the 223rd anniversary of the birth of Mari Ivanovich Brosset, a famous French scientist who made a huge contribution to Caucasian studies. Despite the fact that his area of interest was mainly Georgia, his works contain a lot of information covering the history of the peoples of the Caucasus.
