The author introduces into scientific circulation a whole complex of both already known and completely unknown governmental, political, military and diplomatic documents of the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth(534 in total), which reveal the Polish view of the problem of Ukrainian statehood in Transcarpathia in one of the most vivid and at the same time dramatic periods in the history of the region, when it became an object of lively international interest and fierce geopolitical struggle. Polish sources not only allow us to place the problem of Carpathian Ukraine in the Central European context, but also to trace the broader process of internationalization of the Ukrainian question and determine the role of the latter in deciding the fate of war and peace on the European continent on the eve of World War II.
