The book includes 21 essays covering the military history of the Severodvinsk port in chronological order: research expeditions in the sea environs of the city in the 1930s–1940s, ferrying ships from Yagrinlag to Murmansk in the winter of 1941, the beginning of the war in Molotovsk, the arrival of the first submarines in the first days of the war and the first foreign vessels and ships on November 24, 1941.
The essays are based on the memories of the participants in those events, documentary sources, books, newspaper publications and photographs of that time.
