The book “Belarusian stage. Nostalgic divertissement ”- a kind of encyclopedia of the Belarusian stage. This publication is the first attempt at a large-scale study of the phenomenon of national pop art in Belarus. It tells in detail about the formation, development and rise of the Belarusian Soviet stage, researched and described numerous stage genres, and most importantly - a gallery of images of talented artists is presented, who by their activities glorified the Belarusian stage not only in the USSR, but also in many countries of the world. The book covers the time period from the 1930s to the 1980s, during which the pop department was part of the Belarusian State Philharmonic.
The publication contains more than 1,800 photographs, posters, programs and other archival documents, as well as a detailed index of the names mentioned in it. Despite the use of a powerful research apparatus, the book is written in an accessible language and is addressed to the widest circle of connoisseurs and fans of the Belarusian stage, both professionals and amateurs.
