"Baroque Prague" covers the historical period of Prague from the White Mountain to the Enlightenment, i.e. from 1620 to the 1880s. The renowned Czech art historian Vit Vlnas, in his treatment of this period of Prague's development in its material and spiritual transformations, has captured the life of the Czech metropolis as an integral cultural phenomenon, whose traces are also evident on the present-day face of the city - it is the Baroque period that largely determines Prague's genius loci.
