The book is devoted to the USSR state administration during the Great Patriotic War – the topic that is insufficiently researched and lies on the periphery of public attention. Meanwhile, the answers to questions about the reasons for the failures of the initial stage of the war and the reasons for the great victory of 1945 lie exactly in this sphere. The rigid mobilization regime, established by decisions of public administration bodies, ensured concentration of human and material resources on solving the problems the country faced, as well as their expedient distribution and use. Consequently, the set goals have been achieved – the defeat of Nazi Germany and militaristic Japan during the World War II. The book analyzes the activities of the state administration bodies which operated in the USSR during the war, and the main administrative decisions made by them in all major spheres of the Soviet society.
