This is a story about how eight hundred Petrograd children in 1918-1920, by force of circumstances, made a full round-the-world trip. Taken from hungry Petrograd to the Urals for the summer, the children were cut off by the Civil War, and only the intervention of the Red Cross helped to avoid tragedy. The children had to travel for more than two years. Vladimir Lipovetsky (1936-) is a sailor and journalist.
