The first section of the book covers the history of the development of archival services in the Vologda region in 1918 - 2008, and contains data about the existing network of archival bodies and institutions and development prospects of the archiving industry. The second section contains articles on the history and present state of municipal archival institutions and archival services of municipalities and urban districts, in alphabetical order. The third section presents information about the veterans of the archiving industry. The edition is based on the documents of state and municipal archives of the Vologda region.
