The book researches the interest to the antiquity and the "ownership" of ancient heritage as a source for cultural capital for the main political societies of the recent days – the nations. The interest is pointed to the turning of the archaeological practice and its materiality into an anthropological problem, i.e. it offers a research on the relation between artefacts and social representations and practices as well as of processes which turn them into heritage and into source of national identity. The instruments of the research are formed on the basis of the contemporary anthropological trends to reflectiveness which build the field of the archaeological ethnography. It shows that the specifics of the Bulgarian archaeology about the antiquity is a cultural-historical one which practice makes the cultural nationalism.
