The first artifacts related to ancient shipping along the western coast of the Black Sea were added to the stock of Bulgaria's National Museum of History in 1978. Those were stone anchors discovered during an archeological expedition off Cape Kaliakra. In the following decades until 2012, the number of "maritime" objects increased to 155, discovered at eight different locations off the Bulgarian coast. This catalog highlights part of the wealth of sea shipping and maritime culture artifacts which are kept at Bulgarian museums.
