Egidijus Aleksandravicius is a well-known historian and public figure, VMU professor, head of the Lithuanian Diaspora Institute. Author and co-author of a couple of dozen books, member of Lithuanian and foreign editorial boards and colleges, laureate of academic awards. The book is the result of many years of communication with the President and research into his activities in Lithuania and the United States. The bibliography of His Excellency President Valdas Adamkus is extensive and varied, and some of the President's books have received a great deal of public attention ("Without Defaults", "The Last Term"). However, we did not have a detailed biography of V. Adamkus. Prof. E. Aleksandravicius not only tells the incredibly interesting story of V. Adamkus' life, but also opens the functioning of the post-war Lithuanian diaspora.
