This is a book of the author's essay memoirs about how the Soviet authorities in Minsk sought to make the city of the Sun a model city out of the central part of his homeland. Destroying for this purpose the old layers of human life, trying to literally demolish and bury in the pits and foundations of thousands of destinies and stories. But it is also about how "facade" this idea really turned out to be and how ephemeral are these architectural and semantic giants that now hang over the central streets of the Belarusian capital.
