Monograph. This book is a study of 18th century Manchu dictionaries and the lexical items contained therein. The goal was to trace the development of their compilation, namely the editorial work on the head words and their allocation in different dictionaries. In addition, the study presents the thematic diversity of the vocabulary of the prominent Han-iaraha manju monggo gisun-i buleku bithe [Manchu-Mongolian Dictionary, Written by the Emperor] (1717). The headwords in this dictionary are classified according to their parts of speech, and the semantic values of the morphemes documented in the dictionary are compared with modern concepts.
