Nazareth, considered the place where Jesus spent his childhood and where his mother, Mary, received the gospel, has attained a significant position in the Christian world. Throughout history, this center, bearing the traces of various periods, has also become a pilgrimage site for Christian pilgrims. Nazareth, which remained under Ottoman rule for a long time, was a town populated by various Christian communities, primarily Latins, and Muslims. In addition to its religious identity, the town served as a district center within the Ottoman administrative organization. Focusing on a period from the 19th century to the early 20th century, this study examines both the religious and administrative aspects of Nazareth. Based on this, it examines the civil service and institutions within Nazareth's administrative organization, as well as developments related to administrative regulations. Furthermore, it focuses on the settlement characteristics of Nazareth and the structures belonging to the town's religious communities. Details regarding the Muslim, Latin, Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant communities living there are then explored. Furthermore, the re-association of Jews with Nazareth after the exodus and related developments are also included in our study. This issue, which arose throughout the Palestinian territories, preoccupied the Ottoman administration for a long time, and Nazareth was also involved in this process.
