The church on Vulka (named after the street on which it is located) is the first evangelical church in Brest. The founder of this community has close ties with the St. Petersburg awakening of the early twentieth century and is an extraordinary person who influenced the fate of many of his contemporaries. ... On December 12, 1921, the first meeting of the Baptist community took place in the suburbs of Brest - Vulke. For the next twenty years, the ministry of Luka Dzekuts-Malei was inextricably linked with this church. When a year later the church grew so large that the house on Vulka could not accommodate all the believers, the brothers found a room closer to the city center.
