Results of research on Yakut folk ritual songs are offered in the monograph. All the ritual and song material is systematized and classified, and numerous Yakut folk songs are considered according to this classification. The problem of genre classification is worked out on the basis of the functional-poetic principle. The role of songs in rituals is defined with the help of synchronous comparison of these songs with the rituals they follow. The contents of ritual songs are also analyzed.
