The novel "With a Strong Flap of Wings" is dedicated to the November Revolution, the heroic struggle of Ukrainians for freedom. Antin Krushelnytskyi, being an eyewitness to these events, describes the difficult situation in Halychyna at the time of the confrontation that raged on its territory, the unwillingness of the majority of officials and intelligentsia to depart from the traditions of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and accept the possibility of creating a Ukrainian state. The author with a colossal effect of the sense of presence conveys the enthusiasm and courage of the youth and soldiers who sought to establish Ukrainian statehood in their region and the entire tragedy of the retreat in front of much more powerful enemy forces.
