There are tens of thousands of children in Slovakia who do not have a chance to live well in their lives. Thousands of children are failing in their first year and never finish primary school. Teachers are not able to help them and no one helps teachers in their efforts. What is the starting line of these children, and what methods can teachers use? What can one teacher change and how should the education system in Slovakia change? The book examines in depth the causes of the failure of disadvantaged children, their parents, teachers, but also the state, and brings solutions. Author Juraj Cokyna is neither a scientist nor a long-time teacher. However, education is a mission of his life and he tries to penetrate this issue deeply. Through Teach for Slovakia project he taught children from a poor environment for two years, started writing blogs about his experience and finally a book. Thanks to his experience, this book is full of stories and clear instructions and can be trusted.
