Professor Ivan Bogatyriov's book is a personal story of what the author experienced in the basement of his own house during the attack of the Russian troops on Chernihiv oblast, as well as a description of life in Chernihiv oblast after the liberation of the region from the enemy and real stories about the indomitable spirit of its residents. From the first day of the attack of the Russian invaders on Ukraine, the "northern fortress" - the ancient city of Chernihiv - stood on the enemy's path to Kyiv. Ukrainian soldiers skilfully stopped a column of enemy armored vehicles on the outskirts of Chernihiv. The city was besieged, but not conquered.
