The book offers a new approach to the rhythmic typology of fiction text, specifies definitions and measures of such notions as "verse" and "prose", suggests new concepts to describe transitive and miscellaneous types of speech. Materials of the publication are both classical Russian literature of the XVIIIth - XIXth centuries and modern national literature in all its diversity of tendencies, including authors whose creative work was not adequately explored before.
