This book is an attempt at an unbiased scientific study of the relationship between the work of the Don writer Fyodor Dmitrievich Kryukov (1870–1920) and the famous novel “Quiet Don”. The research results allow us to take a fresh look at the work of F.D. Kryukov and evaluate his contribution to Russian literature. The final article of the book briefly gives the story of the long and difficult return of the writer F.D. Kryukov into Russian literature after almost a century of oblivion.
