The time of post-reform modernization of the second half of the XIXth – the beginning of the XXth centuries became the determinative period for the modern development of Ossetia. One of the key events in the destiny of the Ossetian people was the rise of Vladikavkaz city, which became the main factor of the forced economic and social development of the traditional Ossetian culture. The author attempts to present complex analysis of the peculiarities of the process of transformation of the traditional Ossetian life-style in terms of urbanization and integration of the Ossetian people into urban economy and cultural space of the city.
