The book is dedicated to prominent figures of the Ukrainian theater who harmoniously combined the gift of creativity with the ability to effectively organize the process of collective artistic creativity. For the first time in Ukrainian theater studies the managerial activity of Ivan Shtein, Ludvig Mlotkovskyi, Mark Kropyvnytskyi, Mykhailo Starytskyi, Ivan Karpenko-Karyi, Mykola Sadovskyi, Panas Saksahanskyi, Ivan Marianenko, Lesia Kurbas, Hnat Yura, Vasyl Vasylko is considered in the broad context of the social and cultural situation. Considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the organizational and legal forms of functioning of domestic performing arts. The historical process of formation and development of the stage team model which remains relevant to this day is considered. The multi-level relations of the Ukrainian theater with the government and the process of formation of state management in the field of performing arts are analyzed.
