The monograph is the first comparative literary study of the Ukrainian reception of artistic and essayistic prose (in the original and translations) by Polish writers of the 20th century. The dynamics of the receptive process is traced on a diachronic section, in comparison with Polish, and occasionally other European interpretations of the analyzed works.
The interpretative dominants of reaction texts of Ukrainian intellectuals have been revealed. The problems of receptive texts, which are systematized according to the cultural and axiological accents revealed in them, are revealed and understood. Most of the collected and organized materials were put into scientific circulation for the first time. A bibliography of Ukrainian translations and reaction texts on the works of Polish authors selected for analysis is included.
