Written: in 2009. "Country of the Cossacks" is a travel diary of the Syrian Boulos Ibn az-Zaim al Khalabi, known in the Christian world as Paul of Aleppo (or Aleppo). In 1654, during the reign of Hetman Zinoviy-Bohdan Khmelnytsky, he traveled to Muscovy via Ukraine, from Rashkov on the Dniester to Putivl in the Sejm, and back, accompanying his father, the Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East Macarius III, and performing both languages of the secretary. Impressed by what he saw, P. Khalebsky wrote fascinating lines: "Blessed are our eyes for what they saw, blessed are our ears for what they heard, blessed are our hearts for the joy and delight we experienced in the land of the Cossacks!"
