The monograph analyzes the problems of the socio-economic, demographic and socio-cultural history of the largest monastery in Russia in the broad chronological framework of the 15th–18th centuries. The latest research on the topic in Russian and foreign historiography, recent large-scale publications of the most important sources from the archive of the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and its affiliated monasteries are taken into account.
