Translation. The book by the outstanding Chinese philosopher Hu Shi (1891-1962) "Tolerance and Freedom" contains many articles covering all aspects of literature, history, education, philosophy and society, presenting the ideas of freedom and democracy. In his work, Hu Shi expresses his own deep feelings: "Tolerance is the root of freedom, without tolerance there is no freedom."
