Franz Sivko (1953) Belarusian prose writer and publicist. He graduated from the philological faculty of BSU. He worked as a teacher, deputy director for teaching and educational work, a correspondent-organizer in the system of propaganda of fiction literature of the Writers' Union, style editor at the editorial office of the regional newspaper, he taught the Belarusian language in the Vitebsk technological university. In 1999–2009 He was chairman of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Union of Belarusian Writers. He is the author of several books of prose, two teaching materials on the Belarusian language for students of non-philological specialties, numerous publications in literary and art publications of Belarus. In his work he touches upon moral, ethical and social problems, explores the peculiarities of the mentality of the Belarusian society at crucial historical stages in the context of universal human values.
