The present collection contains numerous documents and materials on the fiscal policy pursued in the country during the period of the so-called national economic reconstruction (1928-1937). According to them, such fiscal policy was conducted to solve the main economic, social and political problems: implementation of industrialization in the country, collectivization of agriculture and “liquidation of the ‘kulaks’ as a class”. Along with the official documents the book includes the peasants’ letters, complaints and applications about the situation in the village submitted to higher bodies of the state authorities.
