The book is about one of the most famous poets of the Russian diaspora of the 20th century, who considered himself "the last St. Petersburg poet." Born in Russia and having spent his youth in St. Petersburg-Petrograd, he was acquainted with Alexander Blok from his youth and was a member of the "Poets' Workshop" headed by Nikolai Gumilev. After Gumilev's death, having published collections of his poems and critical works in Petrograd, Georgy Ivanov left Russia in 1922, spending the rest of his life in France.
